NCRID Membership Applications Now Open

Hello NCRID membership,

We hope that you have been enjoying your summer so far.

We are thrilled to announce that we have opened up membership applications for 2026–2027.

At the annual conference, we announced that we were temporarily pausing membership renewals and applications for the 2026–2027 year, and extending all active memberships from 2025–2026 for the time being. With the potential for our tax status to change soon, we felt it best to pause new memberships while we looked into how the transition would affect our finances and membership details. We were advised also to hold memberships so as to limit additional income while figuring out whether our monies would need to be transferred to RID during any organizational transition.

Since then, we have come to understand a bit more about the effects of this organizational change, and feel confident that reopening membership at this time does not open us up to more financial risk. Additionally, there are many things which a continued pause on memberships could affect—such as eligibility for office, awards, and stipends based on members' continuity and duration of membership, as well as cash flow for the organization.

Thus, we are pleased to begin accepting new membership renewals and applications as of 9/22/26. If you renew or apply before 10/15/26, your 2026–2027 membership will be back-dated to 7/1/26. If you held 2025–2026 membership and renew now, your membership will be considered to have continued to be in good standing over the last few months.
