Land O’Sky, or Land of the Sky, was adopted from the 1876 novel, "The Land of the Sky or Adventures in Mountain By-Ways” by Christian Reid. It has been used over time, in slight variances, to reference the mountains in Western North Carolina and is the perfect name for our regional committee.
