In this three-hour workshop, participants will be given hypothetical interpreting scenarios and be asked to discuss a given set of responses or actions. The scenarios in each case study will be presented as an evolving situation and will be designed in a way so that there is no single “right” answer. Drawing on their experience, participants will determine appropriate courses of action by considering the ramifications of their actions on all parties involved. These discussions are designed to assist participants prepare for the Ethics & Cultural Responsiveness portion of the *CASLI Generalist Knowledge Exam. To further help you prepare for the exam which will be partially presented in American Sign Language (ASL), this workshop will be conducted in ASL each time it is offered. No voice interpretation will be provided.
