DPN (Deaf President Now!): Then, Now & its Promise (0.2)

In March of 1988, the students at Gallaudet fought for the appointment of the university’s first Deaf president. This fight evolved into a movement now known as DPN or Deaf President Now. Greg Hlibok was a student leader at the time and will share his first-hand experience. He will discuss how the movement unfolded and its worldwide impact on the lives of people with disabilities. Many credit DPN for the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act because of the high visibility of the movement in our nation’s capital.
