Welcome students!
We wanted to put this page together as a resource for ITP students, to help them get connected to resources, learn more about NCRID, and better navigate the transition to the professional world!
This page is new, and there is a lot more to come! Keep an eye out for more here, and let us know if you have something you’d like to see here: ncridvp@gmail.com.
Frequently Asked Questions
This section includes information specifically for questions/comments from college students. If you have a question or comment, please email: ncridvp@gmail.com.
How can I become an NCRID member or renew my membership online?
Go to: https://northcarolinarid.org/ (You’re already here!)
Click on the Members tab and then Membership.
There is a "Student Member" option.
I am interested in becoming more involved and attending NCRID meetings and attending local workshops. Is there a list of online meetings? What steps do I take to become more involved?
There are several things you can do to get more involved. One thing is that the NCRID Board meetings are open to the public and you are welcome to join. All of these meeting dates and times are posted on the NCRID Calendar.
If you are interested in joining the NCRID Board when vacancies occur, you would need to be a member of NCRID as well as RID for at least a year. NCRID notifies members when positions are up for election. Also by being a member of NCRID and RID automatically means you are a voting NCRID member. Apply for membership here.
Another way to become involved is when NCRID puts out a call for members to serve on different workgroups or sub-committees.
There here are 7 regional NCRID committees. Each region is constantly needing volunteers. (The regions are listed under the Regions tab at the top of this page. Contact your regional representative to get involved.)
Lastly, at the annual NCRID conference (June), we always put out a "Call for Student Representatives". It is our hope that this year's scheduled conference can be safely held in-person. If it is, then be on the look-out for a "Call for Student Representatives" that will come to your college email inbox.
NCRID hopes to see you as an involved member soon!
