Deaf Awareness Day at Renaissance Festival

Fluent Language Solutions and Central Piedmont Community College are proud to announce that we will again be sponsoring Deaf Awareness Day at the Renaissance Festival. The date will be October 15 with a rain date of October 22. We are looking for ASL interpreters to help out to make this a great day for our Deaf Community.

There will be multiple stages throughout the grounds with performances interpreted throughout the day. We need quite a few interpreters for any or all of the day. We will start at 9am and end around 5pm.

Because this is a donation from Fluent to the community, we are asking interpreters to work for the flat rate of $25 per hour with no mileage. In addition, each interpreter can receive up to 4 admission tickets to the Festival (a $96.00 value). These can be used for your friends and family and can be used that day or any other day that the Festival runs between October 1 and November 20. The Festival provides a free pizza lunch to everyone as well. There is also VIP parking which is a wonderful benefit.

This is a great event and always draws a large deaf  audience. If you know of folks who are interested in coming to the Deaf Awareness Day, they can receive a discounted ticket price if they purchase tickets for that day on the Website and use the discount code: Fluent. Further information and tickets are at www.carolina.renfestinfo.com

Please let me know if you are interested and available and what times you could work. I will coordinate a schedule once I hear from everyone. Looking forward to a great year at the Festival!
