Workshop Description: Participants will have an opportunity to learn about a communication system that is beneficial to people who are Deaf-Blind and practice how to provide signals discretely with touch. Participants will realize how powerful touch can be when working with consumers who have vision and hearing loss. The use of Haptic Communication is successful when using the person’s primary mode of communication, along with touch signals. The workshop will also discuss the Cultural perspectives and other systems which have been researched and successfully used in other countries. Participation is encouraged through hands-on practice
