  • Charlotte Regional Center 5501 Executive Center Drive, Suite 104 Charlotte, NC 28212 (map)

This is a two contact hour training focused on a group discussion about the current status of RID and the implications for the interpreting community.  The discussion will include consideration of the risk assessments conducted by RID and their affect on decision-making within RID. The target audience for this training event is members and non-members of RID, certified Deaf and hearing interpreters, interpreters seeking certification and students.

The matter addressed is the risk assessments conducted by RID HQ  and how the assessments are impacting the RID decisions within RID. Included in this presentation will be a brief history of RID and thoughts about the present status of the organization. We will be discussing what risk assessment is, the decisions leading up to the moratorium on testing and other issues and answer any questions the participants may have.
