Social-Language Development in Deaf Children

  • Blended Fellowship 2091 Big Daddy’s Rd. Pikeville, NC 27863 (map)

This workshop stresses the importance of a healthy social-language development through having full access to a language and the long-term effects language deprivation has on deaf individuals academically, intellectually, socially, and related to employability.

Participants will demonstrate an understanding of key terminology, research data, and concepts of social-language development and deprivation issues in children and adults who are deaf, through Presenter-Participant discussion and group activities.
