Workshop Description: Many interpreters try to avoid classifiers because they do not understand what they are or how to use them within the interpreting product. This workshop will go over the descriptions of classifiers and their role within ASL. Not only will we review what they are but also add some new ways to incorporate them into our daily work as interpreters.
Presenter: M. Antwan Campbell is a 2003 graduate of Gardner-Webb University and in 2007, he received his Master’s in Public Administration from UNC-Pembroke and is currently working as the Educational Interpreter/Cued Language Transliterator Specialist with the Department of Public Instruction.
