Interpreter Coffee Chat (.15 PS CEUs)

Over a delicious cup of coffee (or tea), participants will discuss the topic of accountability as related to the field of interpreting. Articles, provided to attendees before meeting, will be starting point for group discussion. The group will then apply the discussion to real-world experiences, brainstorming ways to appropriately handle situations in field. 


Kathleen Speckhart, NIC, graduated from the University of South Florida Interpreting Training Program in 2003. Since that time, she has enjoyed the different aspects of interpreting, from all levels of educational interpreting to the various settings of freelance. Before moving to Asheville, Kathleen spent six years in the Florida Palm Beach County School District and served as a board member for the Florida Registry of the Interpreter of the Deaf. She currently works as the Interpreter Services Specialist with the N.C. Division of Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, and is the Regional Representative for Land o' Sky Regional Committee of NCRID.
